Bergara Introduces the Wilderness Sierra

Bergara rifles introduces the Wilderness Sierra, which is designed for those who seek the traditional sporter style of the Ridge but crave more adjustability. Ruger’s American series of bolt-action rifles comprise proven tack drivers at an affordable price. After a dozen years on the market, the famed gunmaker just launched their Gen 2 American with a lot more bells and whistles.

Professionally applied Cerakote coating on barrel, muzzle brake, receiver and bolt handle results in a durable, easy-to-maintain finish. Length of pull adjusts from 12 to 13.75 inches. To get proper eye alignment with sights, the Gen 2 offers various aftermarket comb height options. A fluted barrel and more features make up the difference in those found on the Gen 1 models. Beretta BRX-1

Beretta calls upon knowledge acquired over years of working with firearms for military and civilian markets led to the company’s first straight-pull bolt-action rifle, the BRX-1. Providing the best ballistic performances available today, the black, opaque, burnished-steel BRX1 barrels are free-floating, created by cold-hammering and deep drilling. Bergara creates the rifling and chamber in a single step. The bolt utilizes a lug rotating bolt head, complete with extraction claw and ejector derived directly from military technology. The bolt handle has a medium-sized spherical knob positioned close to the trigger for the best ergonomics and speed in reloading.

Interchangeable barrels of varying calibers, three trigger weight options, and fully ambidextrous bolt and extraction offer the ability to change from right to left hand without any tools.  

The BRX1 is a versatile, modern, modular firearm, that’s sure to give the other straight-pull rifles a run for their money. Springfield Armory 2020 Redline

Springfield Armory designed the Model 2020 Redline to deliver a lightweight, custom-grade hunting rifle available in .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor. Featuring a minimalist Grayboe Trekker stock and outfitted with a 16-inch carbon fiber barrel, the Redline is suppressor ready or handles well with a supplied brake. 

The heart of the Redline is the Model 2020 action features dual locking lugs on a fluted bolt that runs smoothly down EDM-cut raceways for perfect, repeatable engagement. In addition, an optimized extraction cam provides robust, reliable operation in any condition.

Combining light weight with unyielding performance, the 28-ounce Grayboe Trekker stock features an adjustable length of pull system — featuring .25-inch adjustment increments, with a range of 13.25 inches to 14.25 inches and adjustable up to 16 inches with additional spacers. The free-floated BSF barrel of the Model 2020 Redline is jacketed in a roll-wrapped carbon fiber sleeve and loaded under tension. 

Three sling stud mounts, two in front and one in back, allow for easy attachment of slings and bipods. The removable SA Radial Brake on the Model 2020 Redline effectively reduces recoil by directing gasses in an outward direction. A thread protector comes with the rifle.

NULA Model 20

Released in Q4 2023, Wilson Combat’s NULA Model 20 has won several prestigious awards already. I put a lot of rounds down range from a 6.5 Creedmoor version with frequent sub-MOA results. It’s 5.3-pound weight punches above the competition.

A Timney Elite Hunter Trigger set at 2.75 pounds brake’s cleanly and crisply every time. A light-weight carbon fiber stock fitted with a Limbsaver recoil pad also features Nitride-coated sling studs. Scope Base Torx Screws are a beefy 8-40 TPI.  The receiver is machined and EDM cut from 4140 bar stock with an Armorlube DLC coating. The bolt is fully machined from 4340 barstock, and a button-rifled Wilson Combat 416R stainless barrel was honed and double stress relieved. Barrel threading is 5/8-24 with a nitride coated thread protector. Topping everything out, the rifle comes with corrosion resistant 17-7 stainless springs. (wilsoncombat.com)

Weatherby 307 Range XP

The 307 is Weatherby’s first newly designed bolt-action rifle in more than 50 years. It gets its moniker from the 307 Area Code at the company’s new factory in Sheridan, Wyoming. The Model 307’s 2-Lug, fully cylindrical design was purpose built to accommodate the vast offerings of stocks, triggers, rails, mounts, and magazines that exist in the marketplace. Hunters and shooters can expect the same precision craftsmanship that Weatherby has delivered since 1945.

The M307 action is a 2-Lug, fully cylindrical action compatible with many aftermarket accessories. Model 307 is designed to accommodate the vast offerings of stocks, triggers, rails, mounts, and magazines that exist in today’s marketplace.

Mossberg is now chambering its Patriot bolt-action rifle in 400 Legend. While today’s technologically advanced long-range chassis and high-dollar custom rifles may get most of the headlines and the glory, the humble lever-action rifle is the one platform that never goes out of style. Smith & Wesson Model 1854

The Model 1854 is Smith and Wesson’s first foray into the world of modern lever actions.
