The Sidekick 640 comprises an exceptionally small device. Armsight bills it as the smallest fully multi-functional 12-micron 640 thermal imaging monocular on the market. The entire unit weighs just 384 grams. The compact size makes it suitable to use handheld or attach to a helmet for hands-free operation.

A 60Hz frame rate and high-definition 1024×768 OLED help provide a crisp image, according to Armasight. Three buttons control all the operations for easy manipulation in the field, including one-touch, in-unit video recording.

The Sidekick 640 offers an extensive suite of features, including video and image capture, USB video stream, USB-C interface for viewing recordings and photos on external devices, including computers or televisions. Functionality includes multiple color palettes anc ompatability with the Rayvn Rail Bridge Mount for helmet mounting with PVS-14, MNVD, or second Sidekick (sold separately).
