Brandon Herrera Talks Ak’s And YouTube

[ad_1]

If you live under a rock, you might not know who Brandon Herrera is, but for those who follow along with his shenanigans, he’s built quite the empire for his age. At just 27 years old, he’s a famous YouTuber and small business owner, but he also built The AK Guy, Inc., from the ground up. The AK Guy is an 07/02 FFL/SOT, where he and his team builds and manufactures custom AKs, historic machine guns, and other rare oddities to demonstrate on his YouTube channel.

Anyone who knows Brandon’s online personality knows he likes to make a lot of dark/crude jokes and have a lot of fun being, shall we say, “politically incorrect.” He’s built a reputation for not holding back, speaking up on political issues, and sharing his opinion honestly with the world.

So Who Is Brandon Herrera?

The August-September 2023 issue of Skillset Magazine is here, and we are proud to have Brandon Herrera grace the cover. Kenzie Fitzpatrick is on assignment to discover the inner workings of Brandon’s brain, and there’s no telling just what she will uncover. Here’s a small sample of what you can expect to learn about him in this video.

SKILLSET: Do you all meet and plan things out? How do you reach out to people in news headlines and create videos?

BH: I have a great group of friends and fellow creators that I not only love to work with, but who also keep me sane. Guys like Donut Operator, Demolition Ranch, Mat Best, Garand Thumb, Admin Results, and plenty more are fun to work with and are solid humans. We met in many ways, some just by saying “hey” in passing each other at SHOT Show. We all share the same passion and can work together on screen and off with some of the problems we run into with our channels. It’s a great support structure to have them and be able to talk through the positives and negatives of YouTube. God knows I’d have gone off the fuckin’ deep end by now without them.

Skillset: Many people idolize you and are excited to meet you in person. Whom do you get excited about meeting or “fan girl” over?

BH: Haha, well, I wouldn’t necessarily consider myself the “fan girl” type. At the end of the day, we’re all just people. But it has been surreal meeting and becoming friends with some of the guys I watched back when I was a teenager. Doing podcasts with FPS Russia and hanging out with Mat Best and Demolition Ranch would have 17-year-old me shitting bricks.

Anyone who knows Brandon's online personality knows he likes to make a lot of dark/crude jokes and have a lot of fun being, shall we say, "politically incorrect." He's built a reputation for not holding back, speaking up on political issues, and sharing his opinion honestly with the world.

There’s Even More In Print!

There’s a whole lot more to this story, and to find it, you need to look no further than the latest issue of Skillset Magazine! Which, by the way, I’d like to point out, can be located by looking inside the pages of Ballistic Magazine. That’s right, five times a year, you can count on Athlon Outdoors to deliver you the most Alpha content in print right inside your favorite firearms publication.

We really enjoy sharing digital content with you, the #skillsetfam. These videos are a ton of fun to create, and we hope you guys enjoy watching them as much as our contributors do making them. What questions would you have asked Brandon Herrera? Who would you like to see on the next cover? Let us know by commenting below or shooting us an email today!
