CVA just announced the next step in its continued ascent into the big-game rifle business. The CVA Cascade XT (for X-Treme) adds the white-hot 7mm PRC chambering, giving big-game hunters another bolt-action, centerfire option from CVA.
CVA Cascade XT Adds 7mm PRC
Once upon a time, CVA focused solely on muzzleloaders. But success translated into adding Quake, PowerBelt and DuraSight. Then once parent company BPI Outdoors started producing full Bergara rifles, the expansions into centerfire markets really ramped up. Now CVA releases its next evolution of the Cascade line, a precision-oriented bolt-action, centerfire complete with a #5 taper fluted barrel.
The barrel profile helps add stability and improve balance, according to CVA. It should also aid in barrel cooling during shot sequences. A radial muzzle brake works to tame felt recoil, managing the feel of new, hot cartridges like 7mm PRC. The threaded barrel, however, enables shooters to swap out to whichever accessory they might prefer. The XT’s tactical-style bolt knob delivers purchase and leverage for manipulating the bolt fast, especially from the prone position.
Customer demand sparked the 7mm PRC chambering, according to CVA. And why not? It delivers magnum speed and power with incredible inherent accuracy potential. This rifle should push select bullets up to 3,000 fps.
The CVA Cascade XT delivers a lightweight, recoil-managing package to harness the 7mm PRC. The rifle weighs a mere 7.15 pounds. A two-position safety and flush-fit, detachable magazine round out this new hunting package. The Cascade XT comes available in 223 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, 308 Win, 450 Bushmaster, 350 Legend, 6.5 PRC, 7mm Rem Mag, 300 Win Mag, 7mm PRC. For more info, visit bpioutdoors.com.
