SHOT Show 2023 is in the books! And like seemingly every year, it sure didn’t disappoint. We saw a ton of new products introduced and even a few truly shocking surprises. So we’ll keep updating this rundown as we pour through the list of new guns, optics, ammo and gear launched in 2023, especially the new guns of SHOT Show! And away we go…

Beretta Brings Back Cheetah; Releases 92Xl & A300 Ultima Patrol Shotgun

A classic Beretta name returns with the reimagined 80X Cheetah. The new ride comes with a smaller Vertec-style grip profile. It features an X-treme S Dboule/Single trigger, skeletonized hammer and 13+1 capacity. It also comes optics-ready and chambered in .380. Keeping with other current trends out there, the Cheetah also comes with an easier-to-rack slide. Color and multi-tone variants abound in what should mark a popular comeback.

The 92Xl brings a new pistol to the 90 Series. A frame-mounted safety and single-action-only variant highlight the offering. The X-treme-S single-action-only exhibits a flat-faced trigger. Components feature DLC coating. A Vertec-style frame, fiber-optic front sight and MRDS optics mounting solution provide a full-featured pistol.

For shotgun fans, the Beretta A300 Ultima Patrol brings a serious 12-gauge workhouse for duty or defense. It features enlarged controls and an enhanced loading port. A hinner forend design comes equipped with M-LOK attachment points. It brings 7+1 rounds to the fight.

Well, we gotta admit. We didn’t see this one coming. Patriot Ordnance Factory made a hard pivot and introduced its first ever lever-action rifle. The Tombstone comes initially chambered in 9mm. It features a 20-round magazine, of the detachable box variety. A 16.5-inch free float barrel, XS Ghost Ring sights, M-LOK surfaces highlight this interesting package.

Rock Island Armory RIA 5.0

The RIA 5.0 claims serious innovation in recoil control.

“American made … revolutionary.” That’s how Rock Island describes its new pistol, the RIA 5.0. It features an interesting patented RVS recoil system, reportedly maximizing barrel mass and linear movement for soft recoil, according to RIA.

The barrel also sits lower in relationship to bore axis. Meanwhile, a two-piece modular grip frame comprises a hybrid polymer and aluminum design. There’s a lot going on here, and we can’t wait to test one.
