HEVI-Shot HEVI-Bismuth Upland Delivers Knockdown Power

HEVI-Shot announced expansion to the HEVI-Bismuth line of shotgun shells–right in time for upcoming hunting seasons. The new 12-gauge, No. 3, 1 1/4-ounce, 2 3/4-inch load carries a muzzle velocity of 1,400 fps. The new shell adds to previous No. 5 shot releases in both 12- and 20-gauge.

“HEVI-Bismuth Upland is a good choice for bird hunters for several reasons. It features non-toxic bismuth pellets, so it’s safe to use in both classic and modern shotguns. It also has softer perceived recoil than traditional, heavier lead loads. And it produces amazing patterns,” said HEVI-Shot product manager Scott Turner. “Many people have a real need when it comes to finding a good load to use in their classic fixed-choke shotguns. And for that, HEVI-Bismuth is certainly the answer upland hunters are looking for.”

The HEVI-Bismuth load also includes 100-percent payload of 9.6 g/cc HEVI-Bismuth pellets. Carrying 22-percent more density than steel, these pellets hit hard. They feature alloy and are loaded here in the U.S. The new load comes in 25-round boxes, with a suggested retail price of $63.99.

We’re not 20+ years into heavier-than-led shotgun technology leading in hunting circles. Back in the day, HEVI-Shot helped pioneer the movement. Simply stated, because of greater densities, you get smaller pellets that hit like bigger pellets. But because they’re smaller, the pattern delivers many more pellets on target, generally speaking.
