Man’s Screams During Bear Attack Will Make Your Blood Run Cold

[ad_1]

A recent viral video trending on Instagram caught our eye, and well, our ear as well. An unidentified rock climber successfully fights off a bear attack, and his chilling screams make it clear he’s in for the fight of his life.

Japanese Climber Takes On Bear Attack

The incident took place in October, on Mt. Futago in Japan. At some point during his climb, the man seemingly startles a sow bear with cubs. Of course, that makes the big eternal “no-no” for bears everywhere. Mess with a momma bear with cubs, and you’re in trouble.

“October 1, 2022. I was attacked by a bear from behind while descending the rocky ridge of Mt.Futago in Chichibu City, Saitama Prefecture, Japan,” the climber said, reported hindustantimes.com. “Instead of fear, I switched to the feeling that if it was coming, I had no choice but to face it. Keep screaming and intimidating. Pound with Hammer Fist. Front kick.”

The climber used his training to good effect. Video shows the bear make repeated attempted charges up the rocky ridge face. But the climber continues pounding away to the bear’s face with hammer fists and front kicks. He shows pure will and complete readiness to fight for his life. Unquestionably, the climber immediately chose to fight like hell, and the response saved his life.

Training & Will

So how did he do it? He fell back on his training. “I learned karate when I was a child, but I like mixed martial arts now, so many I could use hammer fist instead of punches,” he said, reported hindustantimes.com.

That’s a key point here, especially for our American readers. This climber likely couldn’t carry a firearm, as few in Japan can. And if you choose to forgo a firearm, you better have another plan. In fact, even if you carry a firearm, you need a backup plan. We just reported on a recent big cat charge here stateside. These attacks occur when we humans enter animals’ domain. And they can happen fast and furious, with little to no warning. It’s your responsibility to remain vigilant and be as prepared as possible, for anything that might come your way.
