The semi-auto rifle, the modern take on the classic military M14, remains a civilian classic. Inspired by the legendary M1 Garand of WWII, the evolution comprises U.S. martial rifles prior to the M16. It features a detachable box magazine, sturdy sights and ruggedness in the field. Introduced in 1974, the M1A captured legions of fans along the way. Now this NBS-exclusive rifle gives fans a chance to own a couple of unique options.
The Desert FDE option comes in two different variants–an M1A Standard Issue and M1A Scout Squad. The barreled action’s steel comes with a rugged Cerakote finish, complemented by a matching two-tone FDE composite stock. Both rifles also come equipped with an OD Green cotton sling. Two magazines ship with each rifle.
“With the addition of these new NBS-exclusive rifles to the M1A line, fans of this ever-popular rifle have two more options from which to choose,” says Steve Kramer, Springfield Armory’s Vice President of Marketing. “From their expertly applied Cerakote finishes to the matching two-tone FDE stock, these M1A rifles would make a great addition to anyone’s gun collection.”
The M1A Standard Issue Two-Tone Desert FDE retails for $1,847. Meanwhile, the M1A Scout Squad Two-Tone Desert FDE retails for $1,980. For even more info, please visit springfield-armory.com.
