LWRCI just updated the IC A5 line of rifles. The piston system rifle now comes chambered in the popular 300 BLK cartridge, adding utility and mission specificity for military and law enforcement users. Meanwhile, civilian shooters gain a compact package chambered in an exciting cartridge, given continued ammunition and suppression development.
LWRCI IC A5 in 300 BLK
The IC A5 descends from the company’s development of rifles for the U.S. Army’s Individual Carbine Program. The line comprises high-performance, feature-laden carbines, built to the standards for which LWRCI continues to earn an enviable reputation.
“With the increased popularity of the 300 AAC caliber it was an easy decision to expand our IC A5 line with this model”, says David Ridley, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Our customers asked and LWRCI delivered.”
The IC A5 builds around LWRCI’s proprietary short-stroke gas piston operating system. It delivers “unparalleled reliability in extreme conditions and easy maintenance,” according to LWRCI. The rifle features a Mono-Forge one-piece upper with an LWRCI free-float rail. And IC A5 two-position gas block aids in shooting suppressed fire. A scalloped rail design provides easy access to the gas block.
Nickel Boron provides wear resistance and corrosion resistance, along with permanent lubricity, to the bolt carrier, according to LWRCI. The LWRCI signature cold hammer-forged barrel comes with a traditional LWRCI A2 flash hider. Folding sights and a compact stock with QD sling mount adds to the utility.
The IC A5 AAC lower comes fully equipped with fully ambidextrous controls, including the fire/safety control, bolt catch release and magazine release. The LWRCI Enhanced Fire Control Group features a nickel Teflon coating for a smooth, crisp trigger pull and reset, according to LWRCI. And Advanced Trigger Guard and Magpul PMAG round out the upgraded features.
The IC A5 comes in FDE, OD Green, Tungsten Grey, Premier Gray or Patriot Brown; an SBR-length 10.5-inch configuration will hit dealer shelves in May/June 2023. For even more info, please visit lwrci.com.
