Back in 2021, Steiner introduced its MPS (Micro Pistol Sight) battle-ready optic (below). Originally only released in black, the MPS featured a solid, purpose-built construction with defense professionals in mind. Still meeting the approved-for-duty-use status among large and small law enforcement agencies across the country, the MPS is now available in Flat Dark Earth (FDE).
The Steiner MPS (Micro Pistol Sight) in FDE
The MPS maintains the original specs from the initial launch, delivering the hard-use, high-performance engineering found in Steiner’s tactical optics. Constructed of a rugged, all-metal housing, the MPS features enhanced sidewalls and a sealed emitter. As a result, the optic can withstand challenging field conditions and submersion down to 10 meters.
Likewise, the recessed optic window and thick metal shroud protect the lens from most direct impacts. Correspondingly, the window displays the 3.3 MOA reticle with 8 brightness levels—6 day/night modes and 2 night vision compatible modes. The reticle is adjustable for windage and elevation at 1 MOA per click for a total of 90 MOA.
Operating on a single CR1632 battery, the MPS provides 13,000 hours of operation at medium brightness. Maintaining the overall life of the battery, an auto shut-off feature powers the Micro Pistol Sight down after 13 hours.
Originally offered with a black finish only, the MPS is now available in Flat Dark Earth (FDE).
Availability
The Steiner MPS (Micro Pistol Sight) is available in FDE now with an MSRP of $689.99. For more info, please visit Steiner-Optics.com.
On November 9, 2021, Personal Defense World reported:
It’s a rough world out there, especially if you are in the military or law enforcement. For that reason, your optic needs to meet the rigorous demands that daily life throws at you. Life can come at you fast, and optics like the Steiner MPS (Micro Pistol Sight) keeps it from escaping.
The Steiner Optics MPS
Designed with combat in mind the MPS features an all-metal construction, for increased durability and ruggedness. Likewise, enhanced sidewalls completely seal in the emitter. The enhanced sidewalls, coupled with the nitrogen fill protects the roof-mounted emitter from weather and water, down to 10 meters.
In addition to the rugged construction is a recessed window with metal hood. As a result, objects cannot reach the front lens, making for a hard use optic. Go ahead and use the sight to chamber a round with confidence.
The MPS features a 3.3 MOA reticle, wind/elevation adjustable at 1 MOA per click, with 8 levels of illumination. Correspondingly, you can cycle through 6 day and 2 night vision levels, easily. The reticle is powered by one CR1632 battery with 13,000 hours of run time at medium brightness.
To preserve battery life, the MPS has an auto-off feature after 13 hours. However, if you prefer, you can disable the auto-off function and leave it set to continuously on. In case you experience a dead battery, the top mounted compartment allows you to swap it without removing the optic from your pistol.
The MPS is compatible with most optic-ready pistols and baseplate adapters on the market. Additionally, its lightweight 2.05 ounces means that it won’t affect control of your pistol.

The Steiner Optics MPS (Micro Pistol Sight) is available now with an MSRP of $574.99. For more info, please visit Steiner-Optics.com.
