Streamlight releases its latest in rail-mounted weapon light technology with the ProTac HL-X Pro. The light boasts a high lumen output as well as 50,000 candelas for a beam distance of 447 meters. Not to mention, the light delivers a high run time on low and can utilize disposable or rechargeable batteries.
The Rail Mount Streamlight ProTac HL-X Pro Weapon Light
Constructed of 6000 series machined aircraft aluminum, with Type II Mil-Spec anodized finish, the HL-X is impact-resistance tested to two meters. Likewise, when using the standard push button activation, the light is IP67 waterproof rated for operation in one meter of water for 30 minutes. However, with the pressure switch installed, the waterproof rating is IP54. For this reason, it can handle light rain, but in heavy rain, you’ll want to unplug the pressure switch.
The HL-X operates on either a single rechargeable SL-B26 battery or two CR123A batteries. So, you can keep CR123A batteries handy as a backup while charging the primary battery. The HL-X delivers 1,000 lumens, 50,000 candela, and a 447-meter beam on high. Correspondingly, it provides 60 lumens, 3,100 candela, and a beam of 111 meters on low.
While operating on CR123A batteries, the HL-X delivers 1.25 hours on high and 21 hours on low. Likewise, the SL-B26 battery provides 1.75 hours on high and 24 hours on low. Additionally, the strobe feature offers up to 3.5 hours of operation, depending on the battery.
The multi-function push-button tail switch allows for one-handed operation of the momentary, constant on, or strobe modes. Likewise, the light is TEN-TAP programmable to allow for three different programs. These programs include high/strobe (factory default), high only, or low/high. In addition, the available remote pressure switch delivers momentary only and momentary/latching constant on operation.
Featuring an integrated rail clamp, the HL-X rapidly and securely attaches to rifles, carbines, and sub-machine guns. The clamp utilizes a one-handed, snap-on and tighten interface for Picatinny rails. Likewise, the optional M-LOK mount allows for attaching the light to M-LOK compatible rails.
The HL-X is available as a stand-alone light, or complete system with remote pressure switch, Jack-Cap tail switch, M-LOK mount, and other accessories.

“This newest addition to the ProTac family of weapon-mounted lights is the ‘whole package,’” said Streamlight President and Chief Executive Officer Ray Sharrah. “It not only functions as a high lumen light, but with its 50,000 candela and long beam reach, it also puts more light on a target at a distance.”
“Its innovative tail cap switch provides switch redundancy, offering both a push-button switch and a port for a remote pressure switch. And users can choose between rechargeable and disposable batteries, depending on preference or availability.”
