Benelli has unleashed KAOS! A cool marketing line kicks off the next evolution of the Benelli Lupo line of bolt-action rifles with a limited-edition model chambered in 6.,5 Creedmoor. Even more interesting, the company promises “one-of-one finish treatment” for a rare blend of custom touch in a production model rifle line,
“The Lupo KAOS is a limited-edition rifle chambered for the popular 6.5 Creedmoor and is intended to disrupt the notions of what a production firearm should be,” Benelli stated in a release. “Each Lupo KAOS rifle presents its own, one-of-a-kind styling thanks to a carefully selected base coat/overcoat combination that is artfully hand-distressed at the factory to give it a unique appearance.”
The KAOS utilizes a Cerakote finish on the barreled action, adding two or more complimenting colors selected from a 15-color earth-tone palette. The results give customers the option to choose the complimenting colors, producing a unique finish on a premium rifle.
The rifle itself remains a true Lupo. It features a chassis-style design and comes with a three-shot sub-MOA guarantee from Benelli. Key features include:
- Free-floating Crio-treated 24-inch barrel with a 5/8×24 threaded muzzle
- Adjustable 2.2- to 4.4-lb. trigger
- Sculpted bolt with three locking lugs and a 60-degree bolt throw to accommodate low-mounted optics
- Detachable box magazine
- Combtech cheek pad to mitigate felt facial recoil
- Progressive Comfort integrated recoil management
- Trigger reach spacers for a custom fit
- Integrated swivel mounts
- Two-piece Picatinny rail system for optic mounting

When someone says “Benelli,” what’s the first word that comes to mind? We’ll answer that for you: It’s obviously “shotgun.” Few things on the planet are finer than a Benelli M4 12-gauge. Ballistic fans even gave the Reader’s Choice Award for “Best Semi-Auto Shotgun” to the Benelli M4 H20 Tactical for 2019. Well, now Benelli is synonymous with another word: Bolt-action. That’s right, for the first-time ever Benelli is entering the bolt-action marketing with the all-new Lupo bolt-action rifle.
Benelli Lupo Bolt-Action Details
The manufacturer built the bolt-action centerfire rifle for the hunt. For those of you who need to brush up on your Italian, Lupo translates to “wolf” — AKA an apex predator. Benelli promises “sub-MOA accuracy, superb ergonomics, patented adjustability and unprecedented recoil reduction.”
Initial offerings of the Lupo will be available in three popular bolt-action calibers: .30-06 Springfield, .300 Win. Mag., and .270 Win. However, Benelli told us that other calibers will follow.
The Lupo features a precision CRIO-treated and free-floating barrel. Benelli securely bedded it (steel-to-steel) into the alloy chassis receiver. Benelli also added a 5/8 x 24 threaded muzzle, giving shooters the option of adding a muzzle brake or suppressor. Meanwhile, the barrel attachment system creates an unaltered chamber and “perfect alignment on every gun,” according to Benelli.
As far as capacity goes, Benelli gave the rifle a five-round, double-stack box magazine. A two-position, tang-mounted safety offers ambidextrous manipulation, while the Airtouch Grip surfaces provide a safe and firm hold on the rifle.
Adjustability
Beyond that, the Lupo features a chassis-style construction built from an alloy lower receiver and fitted with a synthetic stock and forend. The stock incorporates Benelli’s patented Progressive Comfort recoil-reducing system and Combtech cheek pad for comfortable shooting; it’s incredibly adjustable. The chassis-style configuration of a separate stock, receiver and forend allow the shooter to customize the Lupo to one of 12 drop and cast positions with the included shims. This is easily expandable to 36 positions by utilizing optional combs. Further fit adjustments can be made with included LOP spacers. Finger reach to the trigger is also adjustable with included spacers that can be placed between the receiver and the stock. Additional fit choices include two raised cheek pad styles and one optional length butt pad.
