Can there be such a thing as the ultimate long-range rimfire bolt gun? The folks at Vudoo Gun Works seem to think so, and the company’s new Carbon Sinister precision gun packs a ton of worthy inclusions into a lightweight performance package. This bad boy screams precision in a crossover configuration.
Vudoo Gun Works Carbon Sinister
The Carbon Sinister marries the companies V22 and Three 60 actions. A premium carbon-fiber barrel and carbon-fiber stock options deliver lightweight performance capability. The Sinister already served as a crossover platform, giving a competition-worthy bolt-gun in a single rifle that doubles as a game or plinking rifle. Now customers get that performance in a super-lightweight variant, the Carbon Sinister.
The Carbon Sinister comes available with premium carbon-fiber barrel options, including models from Helix 6 Precision, Proof Research and Bartlein Barrels. Helix 6 Precision and Bartlein carbon-fiber barrels come in barrel lengths ranging 16.5 to 22 inches. Vudoo Gun Works cuts the barrel blanks down to finished lengths as specified by the customers. Meanwhile, the Proof Research barrels come in options for 18- and 20-inch versions.
The rifle utilizes an Altitude stock from Mesa Precision Arms. The Altitude provides both adjustable (38 ounces) or non-adjustable (24 ounces) options. It also comes standard with traditional front and rear sling swivel studs. Stock options on the Altitude include raw carbon fiber, Mohave, Shredded, Anthracite or custom paint finishes.

Editor’s Take
At first glance, the Carbon Sinister looks like a well-executed, high-grade performance rimfire bolt-action rifle. And with a retail price range of $3,265-$3,355, it better be. Long-range, precision shooting, both competition and for fun, continues driving innovation and product development in the firearms industry. We now firmly reside in a golden age of rifles, with optics and ammunition performance to match most any pursuit.
But ammo availability and price remain challenging. For those truly committed to long-range pursuits, a high-performance rimfire makes a lot of sense. One that doubles as a lightweight game-getter and fun shooter, well that’s icing on a pretty incredible cake. For more info, please visit vudoogunworks.com.
