Plant Propagation, Home Nursery Stuff and Rain from Heaven

[ad_1]

We got some good rain over the last few days. As my gardens lack irrigation, this is a good thing! Now we’re set for another week or so.

Earlier this week I filmed a video on how to propagate raspberries:

The Heritage raspberry that has ripened so far tasted so good I decided it would be worth making a lot more of them.

So Gardening, Much Nursery

And along those lines, my daughter and I have launched a new plant nursery together. Right now we’re building up stock in advance of applying for a nursery license. I hope to be selling by July. Like my previous nursery, Florida Food Forests, we’ll focus on edible perennial plants, particularly the hard-to-find ones.

And, along those lines, I put out a video this morning sharing how you can start your own nursery:

I’m not afraid of competition, so long as no one does better than me. If they do, obviously I’ll sulk.

If you don’t have my book on starting a nursery yet, you can get it here.

Speaking Truth in Marriage

In further news, this was an entertaining interchange from the live chat on that video:

Good job, Ricker. Keep those home fires burning.

Book Progress

I’ve been working on a new book just for South Florida gardeners. More on that soon.

My publishing is bottlenecked at the moment as we try to get titles switched over from my previous publisher to my new publishing house. I hope we’ll have a breakthrough soon and I’ll have a book to announce. The new version of Grow or Die is very close to completion – any day now.

And Finally

Our land down in the Caribbean is under contract and the lawyers have all the closing paperwork. If you’re a prayer, would you pray that God blows that through for us? A lot of my resources are tied up down there and it would be a big burden off our shoulders.

Have a great day – I’m headed outside to work on the nursery.

“Sing to God, sing praises to His name;
Extol Him who rides on the clouds,
By His name Yah,
And rejoice before Him.

A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows,
Is God in His holy habitation.
God sets the solitary in families;
He brings out those who are bound into prosperity;
But the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

O God, when You went out before Your people,
When You marched through the wilderness, Selah
The earth shook;
The heavens also dropped rain at the presence of God;
Sinai itself was moved at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
You, O God, sent a plentiful rain,
Whereby You confirmed Your inheritance,
When it was weary.
Your congregation dwelt in it;
You, O God, provided from Your goodness for the poor.”

-Psalm 68:4-10
